Babies can go to the chiropractor? Shocking to many! But this is one of the best things you can do for your little ones.

Why do babies need chiropractic adjustments?

Babies and children benefit from adjustments. Birth can be a traumatic experience on a newborns body. They are pulled, torqued, squeezed and twisted which can all affect their alignment of their spine. As children get older and learn how to walk they are falling constantly. Then when they become older, children are active and play sports. All of these things can cause misalignments in their spine or chiropractic “subluxations”

Correcting the misalignments or subluxations allows the child to express life and develop at their full potential.

How do I know if my child needs an adjustment?

A pediatric chiropractor should check every newborn. The best time to get checked is immediately after birth in order to ensure proper development from day one. Another good time to get your child checked is if they are presenting with any health concerns such as pain, torticollis, colic, reflux, latch or breastfeeding issues, sleeping issues, irritability, frequent infections etc.

What are the benefits of adjustments?

Adjustments help to reduce nerve interference. They help to increase immunity and digestive function as well as increase blood flow especially to the developing brain. Adjustments also help to restore proper growth and development.

How do babies get adjusted and is it safe?

Pediatric adjustments are safe, very gentle and specific. The doctor uses as much pressure as you would test a ripe tomato. The adjustments do not hurt and most children seem happy and relaxed during and after their adjustment.

How can adjustments help my child?

The number one thing parents report after their child gets adjusted is improved sleep. Parents also report improved behavior and attitude as well as improved immune system function. Chiropractic adjustments may help to decrease symptoms of colic, breastfeeding issues including latch problems, reflux, sleep, ear infections, torticollis, plagiocephaly or flat head syndrome, growing pains and much more.

I encourage parents to bring their child in to get checked by a chiropractor.
